I hope Debut will use a high quality card supplier, not one that will fail constantly like certain unnamed banks. Because Debut is online only it will be time consuming to replace a card so this is especially important.

Great feedback! Yes, I’ve experienced these card issues myself. I’m unsure if it’s the cards themselves, the POS readers or the software behind the authentication. Need to do some more digging. Might do an anonymous poll to find out a bit more too.

Laser-cut / engraved metal cards would be awesome - even if they’re offered at a premium to cover costs. They seem to be gaining popularity overseas with the likes of Apple Card and Revolut.

The other option is offer the option of eftpos only, because the magnetic stripe feels quite a bit more reliable.
For debit it can be insert > please swipe > swipe > please insert > repeat ad infinitum
